Origin The second aspect I have included in this work is the vegetation, which lies in abundance in the Sound, forming almost lush islands. This includes a variety of flax, small tulip shaped orange flowers and New Zealand toi-toi, amongst other varieties of plants. The whole forms a floral bank almost, across and surrounding Milford Sound. The vegetation acts as a foil to the water, which can shine like glass, when the weather is clear. Everything is very still in Milford Sound – almost unreal, our own Shangri-La. |
