There
was an old-world quality, both
to the woman who modelled for this work, and to her surroundings,
which I have painted in a contemporary way. This scene must be representative
of families in many different settings and scenarios. I
enjoyed painting this small work, using many drawings of the model
for reference, and working quickly.
