I
have painted several pieces based on my art studio, but this one was
the first. Each studio painting
contains different elements and this work shows the necessities that
have enabled me to function as an artist - light, music, time,
the landscape, religion, the intellect, drawing from the model, the
artist's palette and contemporary design and colour. The art
form which first meant the most to me was music; and though I no
longer practise violin or classical guitar, I am still aware
of music pervading everything I do. Of all my work, this painting stands
out as a corner-stone of all the work I have done.
