Origin
The inspiration for this painting
came from my own back garden. The statue is a replica of one
in my garden and using this as a starting point, I have built up
an imaginary composition around it. The bushes, pots, blooms,
trees, stepping stones, fountain and hills in the background, were,
at the time, my view of an ideal garden. I built up the foliage
gradually, allowing white blossoms to dry before glazing
with transparent colour.
