"Chapel" is a strong but simple statement, exemplifying the arch as a religious and sacred concept. Using a grid format, the work consists of repeating arch motifs. Colours are minimal - there are subtle tonal changes in the complete painting, though each section is treated as an individual entity.

A restricted palette presents a challenge to an artist, but has a depth and simplicity not found in a more varied colour scheme.

The complete work has a "shimmer factor". No two grids are the same, providing a monochromatic sliding scale of tone to achieve a satisfying resolution.
