Origin
A glowing golden sphere is contrasted against a horizontal and vertical squared background, giving an anchor and providing stability to the composition. The moon, or sphere becomes a smaller reflection of itself as shown in the recessed box at top right.

In this work the moon is also seen as a pendulum, an indicator of time,night and day, darkness and light.
