Origin The predominant characteristic of the shells that were used, are the rhythmic whorls, spirals and ridges. Colours and design are random, floating and prolific. Each portion of the painting has been built up into a thick impasto, giving the finished work a sculptural dimension; all contributes to a feeling of the richness and variety of the ocean and seashore.
