In this work, a back view of the model, the nude becomes an abstraction. Tones are modulated and positive and negative space created by the nude and the background, are maximised.

The simplicity of the design is deceptive, because the concept of abstraction needs years of drawing experience and observation, to successfully understand and complete a cohesive, well-balanced painting.
