Origin
Both nudes are the front and back views of the same model. The circular form in the background, glazed with alizarin crimson, unites the composition, giving contrast and illumination.

Although human skin contains a multitude of colours and hues, I've used a limited palette for this work. "Two Nudes' is based on a contour drawing. While it has a vertical format, positive and negative shapes give the total painting a simple and rhythmic structure, uniting both figures in a lunar landscape.
