Origin
The Coromandel bush was the inspiration for this painting. The vegetation is lush, with bushes and trees interspersed with the occasional bach or simple holiday home.. New Zealand has a great variety of different species of plants, trees, ferns and flax, which has provided an unending source of material for me to include in my work.

The natural and manmade landscape flows and cascades into a harmonious whole, creating a rhythmn of colour and form specific to the Coromandel Peninsula.
