This work was influenced by two years living on the Port Hills of Canterbury. The horizon line seemed very close, and I spent many hours alone as a child in this area
amongst rubble, stones and sheep. In this place, I learned to use my imagination, and personified objects such as rock slabs in the sky – it seemed a natural phenomenon to me.
