Origin
Based on the modern ballet Fall River Legend I have chosen this pose in the dance to define the strengh, vigour and power that a young dancer projects from within.

The centre of gravity rises from the heel to the crown of the dancer's head - the spiral form created by the dancers dress undulates and twists like a coil. This feeling of rotation is emphasised by long brush - strokes and glazes which sweep up and around the figure.

Constant movement encircles and adds power to the stationary form of the dancer, although the painting also contains a gossamer, ethereal quality.
